I traveled to Cherokee Nation Headquarters in Tahlequah Oklahoma to receive the “2019 Community Leader of the Year Award”.
I dedicate this recognition the all the strong Cherokee Women who came before me including my Grandmother, Aunts, Principal Chief Mankiller and my Mom. Here fierce spirit has allowed me to become the woman I am today.
I return with an awakened sense of responsibility. Responsibility to use my skills to empower Cherokee Citizens to grow and be the best Leaders they can be, irregardless of their starting point.
While I was there I created an opportunity to lead a Cherokee Women Leadership Workshop. 50 women came together in empowerment and support of each other.
At the core of who we are we strive for Harmony and Balance in this world.
